Volkswagen Group revealed this week that it delivered nearly 1 million all-electric vehicles (EVs) in 2025, up 32 per cent from the year before despite a slight decline in overall vehicle sales over the year.

Volkswagen – which covers all the various brands including Volkswagen, Škoda, Audi, and Porsche – will publish its full breakdown of sales and deliveries for 2025 in a report to be released later this month.

However, an update on its LinkedIn account revealed that, even though overall deliveries for the Group fell by 0.5 per cent to 8.98 million in 2025, deliveries of all-electric vehicles increased by 32 per cent to 983,000.

This means that pure EVs (not including hybrids) accounted for 10.9 per cent of all Volkswagen Group deliveries in 2025, up 2.7 per cent from 2024.

A separate update from the Volkswagen brand revealed that it delivered 382,000 all-electric vehicles worldwide in 2025, which was down slightly by 0.2 per cent, and took an 8.1 per cent share of all the brand’s deliveries for the year.

Volkswagen hopes demand for its EVs to continue growing this year with plans to roll out “many new all-electric models” including the ID. Polo, which will start from €25,000, and the production version of the ID. Cross compact SUV.

Volkswagen Group subsidiary Seat & Cupra also published their own 2025 delivery numbers, revealing that it delivered 79,700 fully electric vehicles, up 65.9 per cent on 2024. The company also revealed that it delivered a total of 84,400 plug-in hybrids (PHEVs) in 2025, up 69.2 per cent on the year previously.
