The 2026 Lucid Gravity X Concept has been revealed at Pebble Beach, preparing the ground for a battery-powered mid-size SUV more capable off-road than a Tesla Model Y, Audi Q6 e-tron or Porsche Macan.
Unwrapped just as Lucid prepares to upgrade its European presence in the coming weeks, the new Lucid Gravity X Concept is described as the EV pioneer’s first-ever “trail-ready SUV”.
That explains why, compared to the regular mid-size Gravity SUV, it features a wider track, raised suspension and a set of stronger off-road rims that are wrapped in all-terrain tyres.

Rugged front and rear bash plates, underbody armour and a set of new tow hooks at each end are also welcome additions for those venturing out in the bush.

An aerodynamically optimised roof rack, LED auxiliary lamps, and a pair of bonnet-mounted graphics that feature topological maps of both the Big Sur and Death Valley asol state the car’s intentions.
Lucid is also primed to offer its take on Land Rover’s terrain response system that will pre-arm the all-wheel drive for what lies beneath.
Although not locked in for production, the new Lucid Gravity X Concept would make sense to spearhead the brand’s launch in SUV-mad Australia. That’s if the US brand ever decides to venture Down Under.
Already confirming Lucid Air limousine sales will begin in the European region from next month, the US car brand’s bosses expect the Gravity will arrive in the first few months of 2026.

More relevant to Australia, it’s been hotly tipped that right-hand drive production will be announced later this year.
That could see the Gravity launch in the UK market around the second half of 2026, paving the way for its arrival in our market.
Currently, the Lucid Gravity is one of the most advanced electric cars available in the US market thanks to the pioneering EV tech it shares with the flagship limo.
Tech like its class-leading powerful 926-volt electrics that allow charging of its 123kWh battery at beyond 400kW. That equals more than 322km added in less than 11 minutes.
The top of the range Grand Touring model comes with a dual-motor powertrain that pumps out 617kW of power and 1232Nm of torque, enabling a 0-60mph (0-97km/h) dash of just 3.4 seconds.

In the US, the Lucid Gravity Touring is available with five or seven seats and is priced from $79,900 ($122,750) – more than twice what it costs for the smaller, less powerful Tesla Model Y that’s priced from $A58,900 Down Under.
That makes the Lucid a more natural rival for the Audi Q6 e-tron ($A122,500) and the Porsche Macan ($128,400).
