Geely extends $2,500 factory bonus on popular EX5 SUV

Geely has extended its recently announced factory bonus incentive, offering $2,500 in cash back on every EX5 model it sells.

This offer was originally pitched at customers who purchase a new or demonstrator MY25 or MY26 Geely EX5 from a Geely Dealer between 1 January 2026 and 31 January 2026 and take delivery by the end of the month.

That’s been extended to the end of February, or 28th of the month to be more specific and is subject to stock availability.

On the company’s website, it says: “$2,500 Factory Bonus is available at participating Geely dealers for MY25/26 Geely EX5 new stock and demonstrator vehicles purchased and delivered between 1 February 2026 and 28 February 2026. While stock lasts.”

The bonus will be applied as a deduction to the driveaway price of the car, which starts at $40,990 before on-roads.

At the same time, there is also a leasing bonus of a $2,500 contribution with a new Geely EX5 that is available through Geely’s registered “Fleet Management Organisation” and could be for those buyers looking at leasing the SUV.

Geely launched in Australia with the EX5 SUV, almost a year ago, in March 2025, with starting prices of $40,990 for the entry-level Complete variant. The top-spec Inspire variant saw a few add-ons and premium features, which bumped that price to start at $44,990 before on-road costs.

The EX5 SUV have sold over 4,000 cars over the last 11 months, making it one of the most popular EVs.

In 2025, it landed in the top-5 best-selling EVs in the market during the year. See The Driven’s data here for Australian EV sales by month in 2025, further broken down by model and by brand.

With competition in the affordable electric SUV only ramping up, the brand is looking at ways to incentivise buyers.

Previously, Geely received multiple offers to incentivise buyers, from free charging to cashback of thousands of dollars per sale, which helped the brand maintain good volumes.

The EX5 is a fairly well-equipped SUV in our market that delivers 430 km of WLTP range, thanks to a 60 kWh Lithium-Iron-Phosphate (LFP) battery pack.

Charging the car from 30-80% will take around 20 minutes with 100 kW peak DC charging speeds available. 11 kW AC charging is also on offer for those with a three-phase power source.

On top of that, vehicle-to-load (V2L) is available with a discharge rate of up to 3.3 kW.

In December 2025, Geely announced that it would be bringing in a small electric hatch called the EX2, coming off the success of selling over 465,000 of the model in China during 2025.

That is likely to compete with the BYD Dolphin, GAC Aion UT and the MG4 Urban EV. That model is expected to land in the second half of this year, further broadening Geely’s EV lineup locally.

The latest round of incentives shows the competition in the mid-size electric SUV segment and is likely to intensify as more new models enter the market in the months to come.
