Revealed at the Brussels Motor Show, the all-new Mazda CX-6e signals a bold new chapter for the brand’s electric future. Blending striking design, engaging performance, and cutting-edge technology, this mid-size electric SUV is built to deliver confidence on both long journeys and daily commutes.
Powered by a 78kWh battery, the CX-6e sends 258PS and 290Nm of torque to the rear wheels, offering smooth, responsive performance. With a WLTP driving range of up to 300 miles and ultra-fast DC charging capability, Mazda’s latest EV combines practicality with driving enjoyment. Inside, a vast 26-inch touchscreen, multilingual voice control, and advanced safety systems create a connected, intuitive, and secure driving environment
Electric Power with Mazda’s Signature Driving Feel
Developed through global collaboration, the CX-6e delivers Mazda’s renowned Jinba Ittai philosophy—driver and car working as one—now translated into a fully electric experience. Its 78kWh Lithium Iron Phosphate (LFP) battery powers a rear-mounted electric motor producing 258PS and 290Nm of instant torque, ensuring linear acceleration and precise control.
Driving the rear wheels through a single-speed transmission, the CX-6e accelerates from 0–62mph in 7.9 seconds and reaches a top speed of 115mph. Rapid DC charging at up to 195kW allows a 10–80% recharge in just 24 minutes, while 11kW three-phase AC charging via a Type 2 connector makes home charging simple and convenient.
Technology Designed Around the Driver
Inside, the CX-6e introduces a refined and highly intuitive digital cockpit. The centrepiece is a sweeping 26-inch touchscreen with a customisable dual-split layout, delivering essential information without overwhelming the driver. A large head-up display projects navigation guidance directly onto the road ahead, while gesture controls allow quick access to saved routes or music with minimal distraction.
Multilingual voice recognition responds naturally to everyday commands—whether adjusting the climate, opening windows, or setting a destination. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto come as standard, alongside a dedicated Mazda app that enables remote functions such as battery management and Bluetooth key sharing.
Advanced Safety, Always On
Safety is a cornerstone of the CX-6e’s design. Every model comes equipped with nine airbags and an advanced sensor network combining high-definition cameras, millimetre-wave radar, and ultrasonic sensors.
A comprehensive suite of driver assistance systems—including Smart Brake Support, Lane Keeping Assist, and Blind Spot Monitoring—works seamlessly to enhance awareness and confidence on every drive. The result is reassuring protection for both driver and passengers, without compromise.
Design That Dares to Stand Out
The CX-6e evolves Mazda’s Kodo – Soul of Motion design language for the electric age, adopting a bold “Soulful Futuristic Modern” aesthetic. Sculpted surfaces and clean proportions reflect the harmony between advanced technology and elegant form. Its long 2,902mm wheelbase and short overhangs conceal impressive practicality, with a 468-litre boot that expands to 1,434 litres when the rear seats are folded.
Seven exterior colours are available, led by the striking Nightfall Violet—a deep, glossy finish that shifts between rich purple tones and near-black shadows depending on the light.
Inside, the cabin is spacious and thoughtfully designed, inspired by the Japanese concept of Ma—the beauty of empty space. Generous head, leg, and shoulder room ensure comfort for all occupants. Interior options include Warm Beige or Black Maztex in Takumi models, or a distinctive two-tone Amethyst and White Maztex finish in the Takumi Plus.
Mazda’s Vision for an Electric Future
“The all-new Mazda CX-6e brings our human-centric approach into the electric era, combining great design, driving enjoyment, and advanced technology for European customers,” says Martijn ten Brink, President and CEO of Mazda Motor Europe. “It delivers the efficiency and performance our customers expect while supporting Mazda’s ambition to reduce CO₂ emissions and expand our electric portfolio.”
Alongside the CX-6e, Mazda also unveiled the all-new CX-5 in Brussels. Featuring refreshed Kodo design elements and refined driving dynamics, the latest CX-5 will be offered in a striking new Navy Blue exterior colour, inspired by indigo research at Mazda’s European R&D Centre. The new CX-5 is set to arrive in the UK this summer.
