Volkswagen is gearing up for the European debut of the ID. Cross, a compact electric five‑seater set to arrive in autumn 2026 with a starting price of around 28,000 euros. Designed for customers seeking practical, everyday electric mobility at an accessible price point, the model is already drawing attention as it appears in Amsterdam wrapped in eye‑catching camouflage.
The ID. Cross introduces Volkswagen’s new Pure Positive design language, defined by clean lines, balanced proportions, and a refined, modern presence. Despite its understated styling, the vehicle projects confidence and quality. Inside, the cabin continues this philosophy with a calm, uncluttered atmosphere, high‑grade materials, and craftsmanship typically associated with higher vehicle classes. Generous space, intuitive controls, and large displays complete the interior’s premium impression.
Volkswagen has equipped the ID. Cross with a flexible drivetrain portfolio to suit a wide range of driving needs. Customers will be able to choose between power outputs of 85 kW, 99 kW, and 155 kW, paired with two battery options offering 37 kWh or 52 kWh net capacity. This allows the model to accommodate everything from urban commuting to longer intercity journeys. Modern driver‑assist systems enhance comfort and safety, while DC fast‑charging capability of up to 90 kW – or up to 105 kW with the larger battery – ensures the vehicle remains future‑ready.
With its blend of compact dimensions, advanced technology, generous interior space, and an attractive entry price, the ID. Cross positions itself as a compelling value proposition in the growing electric vehicle market. Volkswagen aims to appeal to drivers who want a well‑rounded EV without compromising on quality or usability.
Volkswagen, one of the world’s largest and most influential automotive manufacturers, continues to expand its ID. family as part of its long‑term electrification strategy. The company has invested heavily in scalable EV platforms and battery technologies to accelerate the transition toward zero‑emission mobility. The ID. Cross represents the next step in this evolution, offering an affordable gateway into Volkswagen’s electric lineup. Positioned between the brand’s compact and mid‑size EV offerings, the ID. Cross is expected to play a key role in broadening the appeal of electric driving across Europe.

The Volkswagen Group has reached a major milestone in its transition toward electric mobility, announcing the production of five million electric drive units across its global manufacturing network. The achievement reflects the growing strength of the Group’s technology and production alliance, with plants in Győr, Kassel, Tianjin and Zuffenhausen contributing to the rapid scale-up.
