BYD had another mixed result in November 2025 compared to November 2024. Full electric vehicles were up solidly (+19.9%), but plugin hybrids were down slightly more (-22.4%). Overall, that meant BYD’s plugin vehicle sales were down slightly (-5.8%)

It’s a somewhat similar but somewhat better story across the first 11 months of the year. Full electric vehicle (BEV) sales were up more (+32.7%), plugin hybrids were down less (-5.5%), and overall plugin passenger vehicle sales were up (+10.4%). Of course, those are all comparisons with January–November 2024.

Static charts and then interactive charts of BYD’s overall plugin vehicle sales (aka “New Energy Vehicle” sales), BEV sales, and PHEV sales are below.

Can the company end the year with a strong December and log good growth numbers across all of 2026? We’ll see.

Can BYD’s BEV sales growth outpace its PHEV sales loss (or could PHEVs even grow again) in 2026? We’ll see.

Stay tuned on CleanTechnica for answers to those questions, and more insights regarding BYD’s overseas growth, plugin vehicle split, and overall China EV sales and global EV sales.

Update: “The export volume of New Energy Vehicle achieved 131,935 units of the Company for the month of November 2025,” BYD also notes. And then there’s also its stationary energy  storage market. “The installed capacity of NEV power battery and energy storage battery of the Company for the month of November 2025 was approximately 27.669 GWh. The cumulative installed capacity for the year 2025 was approximately 258.282 GWh.”
