Last year, emerging Chinese car company Leapmotor officially announced its entry into Australia with its first electric vehicle, the C10 electric SUV. This was followed in March this year with the company’s second fully electric offering, the B10 SUV, which was unveiled at an event in Hangzhou, China.
Now, the B10 SUV’s pricing and specs for Australia have been unveiled, making it one of the cheapest electric SUVs in the market.
This model will arrive in the Australian market in November with two variants, with incredible drive-away prices, including:
- Style – $38,990
- Design LR (Long Range) – $41,990
It is now officially the cheapest electric SUV in the country, given that these prices include all on-road costs. This even undercuts the Chery E5, which has driveaway prices in most states of just over $39,000.
For this, the mid-sized SUV will feature the company’s latest Leap 3.5 architecture, delivering a range of up to 516 km on the NEDC cycle.
This is likely to be above 450 km under the WLTP cycle, which is fairly good from its 67.1 kWh lithium-iron-phosphate (LFP) battery pack. That’s, of course, available on the top trim, Design LR variant.

There is also a 56.2 kWh LFP battery pack, which is rated at 442 km of NEDC range, likely to be closer to 400 km on the WLTP cycle commonly used in Australia.
11 kW AC charging will be available on both variants, along with DC charging speeds of up to 168 kW on the larger battery-equipped top-spec Design LR variant.
This should help get the car from 30-80% in around 20 minutes, which is once again, on the upper end of the charging speeds found in typical affordable electric SUVs on the market.
The Leapmotor B10 is 4.52 metres long, coming under the longer C10, which comes in at 4.74 metres.
Powering the local B10 variants is a single motor configuration, coming in at 160 kW of power and 240 Nm of torque, which is the same as the larger C10 SUV in our local market.
The motor will help the car accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 8 seconds, which is fairly respectable for an affordable SUV.
On the inside, a large 14.6-inch infotainment screen is paired with an 8.8-inch driver instrument cluster behind the steering wheel.

Apple CarPlay and Android Auto will be available with the cars via an over-the-air (OTA) update by January 2026.
Here in Australia, Leapmotor started deliveries in December 2024, and so far in 2025, until August has seen 381 sales of the BEV variants.
Given the B10 is likely to compete with the BYD Atto 3 and other smaller mid-sized SUVs, it’d be worth keeping an eye on given the popularity of that segment.
We look forward to test-driving the car on local roads when it lands in the coming months, as it could be a crucial segment that many buyers looking to make the switch to EVs would consider. After all, more affordable choices in our local market can only be good for the EV transition locally.
